About me and this site
I am a Professor of Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience, part of King s College London. I am also a National Teaching Fellow and Principal Fellow of Advance HE. In my role at King's, I am part of the leadership team for the BSc Psychology programme, one of the top ranked programmes in the UK, and I teach across several models on the programme. Outside of Psychology, I work closely with the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning (CTEL) as their Academic Advisor. Within both Psychology and CTEL I conduct research into education with a particular focus on digital education, student and staff wellbeing and neurodiversity.
I completed my first degree in Psychology at Sheffield University before completing an MSc in Neuroscience at King's College London and then returning to Sheffield for a PhD. Alongside my PhD I completed my first formal teaching qualification (PCHE) and started teaching as an Associate Lecturer (Tutor) at the Open University, a role which changed my views of education and inspired me to making teaching a core part of my academic career. After my PhD I worked at Oxford University as a postdoctoral researcher and Junior Research Fellow at Somerville College before becoming at lecturer at Lady Margaret Hall and taking up my first full academic post at the Open University. From there I moved to King's College London as a Senior Lecturer and later Reader and Professor. During this time I also completed an MA in Online and Distance Education with the Open University.
This site complements my main research laboratory website (www.adhdresearchlab.com) to share my work specifically relating to education and my own views on higher education. I have some social accounts for my research (see links below) but also will share views on my own X (Twitter) account @EllieJaneDommett
